ArtemiS SUITE is a universal software for sound and vibration analysis with a modular structure that enables users to combine various projects and signal processing tools for any application. With release 16.0, HEAD acoustics has perfected workflows and usability - especially for users who are required to perform repetitive tasks.
With the new ArtemiS SUITE modules for automation (APR 050 Automation Project) and standardization (APR 220 Standardized Test Project), users now have even more possibilities and workflows to deal with even the most complex tasks. The company expanded these features with simplicity in mind so users can focus on their work without any technical hurdles. In the HEAD acoustics website there are now a series of tutorials and demo projects explaining how to Automate and Standardize Testing Projects, including a comparison of different ways to perform a task which can be automated.
While the Automation Project offers a high degree of freedom, the Standardization Project is more strongly guided, making it easier to set up and carry out projects but also more rigid regarding its options. The Pool project is ideal for troubleshooters, such as when looking for conspicuous noises and it's better to work with time data. The Automation Project is ideal for testing routines in daily work, such as recurring measurement tasks that require automated analysis. The Standardized Testing Project supports large test projects, making it easier to carry out measurements using a standardized test procedure and documentation and generate standardized reports.
Other general productivity and feature enhancements introduced in ArtemiS SUITE release 16 include advanced customization of diagrams with a framework for labels and captions that make it easier to understand reports. This includes adding clear and specific names and more flexibility in presenting measurement data. HEAD acoustics also added the possibility to define unit-to-quantity rules to convert any unit string to a known quantity (e.g., degC converted to °C). This becomes useful when importing CAN or FlexRay signals, where units are often not stored in the intended or adopted notation.
Improvements have also been made to file handling and compatibility protection. ArtemiS SUITE now embeds application version information in documents for improved cross-version compatibility awareness and overwrite protection. Users can trust that their files will always be handled with compatibility in mind. Release 16 also contains Interface Completeness Criterion (ICCplus) analysis to support Transfer Path Analysis (TPA) model validation.
Enhancements for reporting in ArtemiS SUITE now include support for multiple curves to be displayed in a XY diagram. Additional properties for curve management (switch and move ordinates, and adding curves) and modification to line styles were added. New filter options were added in the “Pages” tab to allow, as an example, to filter out pages with broken bindings, enabling the use of report templates with only partial results. The new Reporting Library (ASX 09) enables users to read, modify, export, and store reports without installing ArtemiS SUITE. A report can be exported as a pdf or as PowerPoint and saved as a new report file.
The ArtemiS SUITE Recorder also received a new pause button. Apart from pausing recordings, this button can also be pressed to release a configured trigger when the trigger conditions do not occur. "Start on every key" opens a separate window with a large record button. Any keyboard input or mouse/touch click on the large record button starts a recording or stops a running recording. And Online Monitor diagrams can now be configured to show the diagram content of the currently selected channel, allowing users to switch the content of multiple diagrams with one click.
In addition to the already supported HV AD ECAT and AD ECAT CSM hardware modules, ArtemiS SUITE 16.0 now supports further EtherCAT-based MiniModules and high-voltage Breakout Modules by CSM (Computer-Systeme-Messtechnik). The company's high-voltage breakout modules for voltage, current, and power measurement, in particular, open a wide range of possible applications in electric and hybrid vehicle testing. Synchronized with HEADlab (second generation) controllers via PTP protocol, it becomes possible to implement simultaneous recording with CSM systems and HEADlab in the ArtemiS SUITE Recorder.
