With the introduction of the A-3 true wireless earbuds, Earin combines the elegant and minimalistic Scandinavian design the company has become known for, with good quality audio and the latest wireless connectivity features, all wrapped into the smallest loose-fit earbuds on the market. Launching in Q1 2021 on Earin.com and Amazon, the A-3 will be available in black and silver models for $199 USD. A Limited Edition version will be available exclusively for the Earin Kickstarter community beginning 14 January.
Following the company's efforts to deliver first and foremost the best possible audio quality in its earbuds, Earin once again makes quality the focus for the A-3. Earin engineered the new model with customized 14.3mm dynamic drivers that move 20 percent more air than similarly sized units, creating a more crisp and clean sound with deeper bass. More important, the frequency response was optimized for the open design of the A-3, setting what the Swedish company believes to be a new high-quality audio experience in true wireless.
Of course, like all TWS pioneers, the early products from Earin suffered from Bluetooth problems and the fact that - at that time - there was simply no reliable solution to stream to each earbud independently, causing one of the earbuds to frequently disconnect. But the company seems to have learned how to leverage the latest technology advancements to create a product that still looks original. The A-3 design is a Bluetooth 5 solution that uses the established Qualcomm QCC5121 platform, with support for standard profiles and AAC, aptX, and aptX low latency codecs. On the RF side, Earin seems to have gone a step further than most, with the new design claiming an operating distance from the connected device up to 75 meters.
For communications, Earin was also able to resist adopting the ‘stem’ of typical wireless earbuds (since the AirPods) and instead incorporated two types of sensors in each earbud – a microphone (Knowles) and an accelerometer - to feed the required signal processing. Another microphone in each earbud is dedicated to voice capture only. An adaptive algorithm that monitors voice and background noise in real-time removes ambient noise and gives users the highest possible quality call experience no matter the environment.

Leaving behind the days of a dedicated left and right earbud and the clumsy experience of connecting and pairing via Bluetooth, Earin’s patented technology automatically assigns each earbud as left or right as users place them in their ear. Utilizing a symmetrical, loose-fit open design, the A-3 earbuds sit comfortably in the outer ear, keeping users aware of surrounding environments. And with an IP 52 rating, the A-3 is sweat, water and dust resistant.
A single intuitive touch interface on each earbud allows answering calls, playing music, skipping to the next song, or activate Google Assistant, Alexa, and Siri voice-assistants. The aluminum charging case houses and charges the earbuds when not in use, allowing for up to 30 hours of battery life and five hours of playtime. One of the sides of the case allows users to charge using any Qi Wireless pad. The case fully charges the earbuds in 1.5 hours and the case itself gets fully charged in 3 hours using the included USB-C cable.
