Yamaha Announces Fourth Generation Active Field Control System

Yamaha announced an upcoming upgrade to its Active Field Control (AFC) acoustic enhancement system. According to Yamaha, the new AFC4 (fourth generation) system features significant upgrades in DSP processing and hardware. When combined with optimally placed microphones and loudspeakers, AFC4 operators can greatly enhance or create any acoustic environment, even in an outdoor or roofless venue. The new updated solution will be part of Yamaha's presentations scheduled for InfoComm 2019.

In 2018 Dan Dugan - inventor of the automatic microphone mixer - is celebrating his 50th year in business, his 75th birthday and his 35th year of his laboratory on Napoleon Street, San Francisco. Since 2011 Dan Dugan Sound Design technology has been a key component in Yamaha's digital mixing systems, so the company invited him to a surprise celebration on its stand at ISE 2018.

The 2017 InfoComm trade show saw Yamaha Commercial Audio launching several significant new products in its Commercial Installation Solutions (CIS) range, including paging stations, flexible control options and Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) L2 switches. In parallel with the introduction of the new VXL1 range of column loudspeakers, Yamaha promoted the new networked installation solutions at its own booth plus two audio demo rooms.
