HearAngel and Sonical Announce Strategic Partnership to Integrate Smart Hearing Safeguarding for Headphones

HearAngel (a LimitEar company) and Sonical announced a software licensing agreement to integrate the HearAngel smart hearing safeguarding solution into Sonical's CosmOS operating system for headphones. This collaboration allows manufacturers using the Sonical platform to offer hearing safeguarding either as a standard feature or user option. The announcement was just one in a series of new partnerships for CosmOS confirmed during CanJam London 2024.

Hifiman introduced the new SVANAR Wireless LE, a "light luxury" edition of its reference true wireless earbuds, SVANAR Wireless. This new Bluetooth 5.2 design brings the company's approach to wireless audio within the reach of a wider market, as it does the also new SVANAR Wireless Jr model, an even more affordable follow-up reference design. The Hifiman SVANAR Wireless LE and Jr true wireless earbuds are a great example of how difficult it is to balance differentiating features.

Denon launched its Denon PerL Series of True Wireless Earbuds, which combines the hearing profiling technology pioneered by Australian crowdfunding champions Nura Sound, now rebranded as Masimo Adaptive Acoustic Technology (AAT). The two Denon TWS earbuds are also basically the same products designed and already promoted NuraTrue and NuraTrue Pro, now renamed as Denon PerL and Denon PerL Pro.

AudioTelligence launched Orsana, a demonstration device of an assistive listening solution to help users hear clearly in noisy environments, with hearing aids or consumer TWS earbuds. Orsana connects wirelessly to Bluetooth LE Audio enabled earbuds or hearing aids – and can be used by up to 6 people at the same time. The device is available for hearing aid and consumer electronics companies interested in implementing their own assisted listening solutions.

Reviving the original strategy that motivated the acquisition of in-ear monitor manufacturer Aurisonics and taking lessons from the very successful playbook of Swedish design house Zound Industries with guitar amplifier brand Marshall, Fender announces an all-new range of consumer Fender Audio products. From true wireless earbuds designed like musicians IEM's, all the way to portable Bluetooth speakers that look like miniature Fender guitar amps.

CEVA announced that its latest RivieraWaves Bluetooth 5.3 IP family now supports Auracast broadcast audio, the new audio sharing standard, based on the Bluetooth LE Audio broadcasting specification, unveiled by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). According to CEVA, Auracast broadcast audio is set to transform the shared audio experience, enabling an unlimited number of Auracast receiver-compliant devices such as TWS earbuds, headphones, hearing aids and wireless speakers to simultaneously receive audio broadcast from one or several Auracast transmitter devices.

Skullcandy, the headphone company from Park City, Utah, announced a partnership with Bragi, the inventor and largest intellectual property owner of true wireless headphones, now licensing its software to brands and manufacturers worldwide. The partnership enables Skullcandy to create truly smart, future-proof audio products, infused with easy-to-use, transformative technology incorporating Bragi’s software platform featuring embedded AI.
