The new version of Bluetooth technology will deliver “connectionless” IoT, advancing beacon and location-based capabilities in home, enterprise, and industrial applications. Implications for audio streaming and wearable applications are huge.

The CTA study also shows smartphone ownership now beginning to mirror television trends.
