XMOS VocalFusion 2-Mic Dev Kit for Alexa Voice Service Qualified by Amazon

Amazon has qualified the VocalFusion 2-mic dev kit for Alexa Voice Services launched by XMOS for smart TVs and set-top boxes in July 2019. The qualification highlights the opportunity for manufacturers to build Amazon Alexa voice capabilities into their products more easily and cost effectively than ever before. Amazon highlights the product’s engineering innovation, enabling lower cost voice capabilities with all the performance of a 4-mic solution, and paving the way for mass market implementation of far-field applications.

Sensory, the originator of wake words for personal assistants, raised the performance bar for always-listening wake word and speech recognition with significant upgrades to the embedded AI in its sixth generation of TrulyHandsfree, boosting the technology's already industry-leading wake word performance and accuracy by more than 65 percent. The new solution introduces upgraded turn-key voice interface solutions for devices of all shapes, sizes and power requirements.

Infineon Technologies, and Aaware, Inc., an emerging supplier of sound capture technology for far-field, voice-enabled digital products, announced the formation of a partnership to launch a next-generation voice development platform to be released later this summer. Aaware’s Acoustically Aware technology is highly synergistic with Infineon’s digital MEMS microphone technology, combining to bring the best sound capture for extremely noisy environments in commercial and industrial applications.

Ambiq Micro, the pioneer in ultra-low power solutions, announced a partnership with DSP Concepts, a global developer of embedded digital signal processing audio solutions and specialist in voice UI technologies, and Sensory, the leading provider of embedded artificial intelligence (AI) and speech recognition technologies. The collaboration aims to provide extremely power-efficient, always-listening voice control on battery-operated, intelligent devices without sacrificing quality of experience.

XMOS announced commercial availability of the xCORE VocalFusion Speaker Linear evaluation kit as part of its range of innovative far-field voice capture solutions. Based on the XMOS VocalFusion XVF3100 voice processor, the kit is designed for developers, OEMs and ODMs integrating voice user interfaces into flat, or linear consumer electronics typically found at the “edge of the room”, such as smart home control panels and washing machines.
