Meyer Sound Debuts Ultra-X40 and Previews Spacemap Live at InfoComm 2019

Following European presentations at ISE and Prolight+Sound 2019, at InfoComm 2019, Meyer Sound had an expanded booth and demo room to preview its new immersive system, Spacemap Live, and demo Ultra-X40, the company’s latest point source loudspeaker. In Demo Room W240, visitors were immersed in a captivating preview of Spacemap Live, Meyer Sound’s prototype spatial sound mixing tool.

Meyer Sound has announced the appointment of Silicon Valley veteran executive Marc Chutczer to the newly created position of Vice President of Digital Program Management. Under Chutczer’s guidance and coordination, Meyer Sound will pursue a wide range of new digital technology initiatives as well further development of current digital programs, including Constellation, spatial sound initiatives, Bluehorn System, M-Noise, MAPP, SIM, and AVB networking.

At InfoComm 2018, the immersive audio, 3D audio, spatial audio demonstrations - call it what you will - where certainly one of the highlights. At the Las Vegas show, Avid announced that development partners Flux::, d&b audiotechnik, and L-Acoustics have each integrated their immersive sound processing solutions with the company's Venue S6L live sound system. All were part of the demonstrations, which obviously demand a tight integration with mixing automation.

Earlier in 2016, Waves Audio announced its Nx software technology that applies panoramic audio imaging to stereo headphones, opening the door to applications in virtual reality, augmented reality, 3D mixing and much more. Waves Nx lets users hear the same natural depth, natural reflections, and panoramic imaging heard from speakers in a physical room, but on headphones. Now Waves decided to launch a new Kickstarter campaign, allowing the audio community to get a stake in this innovative technology.

The Sennheiser Group presented its annual results for fiscal year 2014 and, compared to the previous year, total sales at the audio specialist rose by 44.3 million euros to 634.8 million euros, representing an increase of around 7.5 percent. Net earnings also increased by 20.4 million euros to a total of 34.7 million euros.
