RAVENNA Improves Session Description Protocol Features with Release of Latest RAV-2-SAP Converter

A new version of the RAVENNA-to-SAP (RAV-2-SAP) conversion tool has just been released and is available for download from the RAVENNA website. First launched in late 2016, the RAV-2-SAP freeware conversion tool was designed to help connect RAVENNA-networked devices to other AES67 devices by providing a translation service between RAVENNA and SAP announcements to enable the exchange of Session Description Protocol (SDP) data between otherwise incompatible devices. The new release delivers some important new features in addition to some minor bug fixes.

This means the sounds from any app – music, podcasts, radio, video, audiobooks, and more – on any iOS devices can be streamed directly to Sonos with multiroom and Siri support. Following the earlier announcement that Sonos would be updating some of its most recent systems to support Apple's new AirPlay 2 technology, Sonos now confirmed that its users can start using AirPlay 2 with a free software update.
