QSC Introduces Q-SYS SPA-Q Series Network Amplifiers Suitable for Smaller Spaces

QSC, the amplifier company from Costa Mesa, California, has evolved considerably over the past decade, expanding its QSC systems approach to a complete ecosystem of solutions based on its software-based Q-SYS cloud-manageable audio, video and control platform. This approach is even generating a series of Q-SYS products, of which the new SPA-Q Series of network Class D audio amplifiers with multiple I/O options is just the latest example.

Speech recognition platforms suffer from poor recognition rates in a noisy environment such as kids in the back seat of cars, radio, ambulance passing by, or heavy rain. Video conferencing becomes ineffective when one of the participants is in a noisy environment like a coffee shop. Israel’s Hi Auto developed a software-only speech enhancement and speaker separation system that eliminates the most challenging noises and focus only on the speaker.

Supporting the AV industry’s shift from purpose-built hardware to software-based solutions running on standardized hardware, Audinate announced two new software-based Dante networking products. Dante Embedded Platform enables manufacturers to add full Dante functionality in software running on Linux for x86 and ARM processors. The Dante Application Library allows software developers to seamlessly integrate Dante functionality directly into their PC & Mac applications. Early confirmed adopters include QSC, Zoom, and Analog Devices.

Following Audinate's announcement of a shift from purpose-built hardware to software-based solutions running on standardized hardware, QSC announced Software-based Dante for the Q-SYS Ecosystem. As part of its strategic technology partnership with Audinate, Q-SYS will now feature scalable software licenses that will enable native Dante networked audio integration without the need for additional hardware I/O or external configuration software.
