Harman's Mark Levinson Introduces New 5000 Series Integrated Amplifiers

A major highlight among new product announcements at the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2018, Harman's Mark Levinson introduced the first two models from the new 5000 series, the № 5805 (with new MM/MC phono stage) and № 5802 (w/Bluetooth) integrated amplifiers. The Mark Levinson 5000 series amplifiers deliver renowned Mark Levinson luxury and fidelity at an exceptional value, now featuring ESS Sabre32 converters and MQA support, among many exceptional updated features.

Parasound has introduced the HINT 6, an improved version of its popular Halo Integrated Amplifier. The new HINT 6 features a Burr-Brown volume control with easy-to-read front panel display. It also adds an upgraded USB receiver with plug and play functionality for Windows and Mac, a second optical input, increased phono gain, greater channel separation, and some pleasing refinements to its appearance.

Leema Acoustics’ new Pulse IV is a highly versatile and powerful integrated amplifier that enables a world of music to be enjoyed with high sound quality thanks to a huge connectivity suite bringing together music playback in all its forms, whether on vinyl, streamed from smartphones and tablets via aptX Bluetooth, or stored on computers, laptops and more.

Audio-Technica’s new AT-LP5 direct-drive turntable incorporates a J-shaped tone arm outfitted with a lightweight AT-HS10 headshell and high-performance AT95EX Dual Moving Magnet stereo cartridge, created specifically for this turntable. Constructed of anti-vibration damping materials with heavy-mass metal chassis inserts, the AT-LP5 is powered by a direct-drive, high-torque motor, and features a built-in switchable phono/line preamp and USB output.

Many of today’s receivers and preamplifier processors do not have phonograph inputs, so anyone with a vinyl collection will need an external phono preamplifier. Bill Christie decided to build one using a TI high-performance op-amp, since the data sheet already included the schematic for a phono preamplifier.
