Peavey Electronics Celebrates 55 Years of Business

Peavey Electronics celebrated the 55th Anniversary of its founding on June 1, 1965. Forged in the birthplace of the blues, Peavey began during one of the most dynamic and groundbreaking years in rock music history. Peavey sent out a message reflecting on the company's 55th Anniversary celebration and its history, as well as music’s powerful ability to overcome barriers and unite people.

Audio Media Research (AMR), the company originally founded by Hartley Peavey as a research and development branch of Peavey Electronics, announced the acquisition of the ReValver guitar amplifier modeling software line from Peavey Electronics. AMR is now a stand-alone entity focused on audio software and digital signal processing for the music creation market, specializing in sound emulation with tube, circuit and component level modeling.

Announced by CA Global Partners and scheduled for August 7, 2019, Peavey Electronics is clearing up a massive inventory of over 12 million USD of new and used equipment, together with all sorts of manufacturing parts for professional audio and musical instruments products, as well as machinery and large quantities of raw materials. The auction, as Peavey explains, is the result of the company's closing and consolidation of manufacturing locations in the United States.

In this Q&A, Charlie Hughes credits his success to knowledge, contacts, friendships, and his wife. He earned a physics degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in1988. After graduation he worked for Peavey Electronics in Meridian, MS as a loudspeaker design engineer where he remained for 14 years. In late 2004, he started his own company, Excelsior Audio, located near Charlotte, NC. Excelsior Audio primarily provides consultation and design services to loudspeaker manufacturers.
