Celemony Releases ARA Audio Interface SDK Under Open Source License

Celemony Software is placing the ARA Audio Random Access exchange interface under an open source license as well as releasing a comprehensive software development kit. This will make ARA integration even easier for digital audio workstation (DAW) and plug-in manufacturers. ARA was created as an integration extension for audio plug-in interfaces, allowing greater amount of audio information exchange, such as key, tempo, pitch, and rhythm, for an entire song.

Celemony Software GmbH, the German pioneer in musical, note-based editing of audio, creators of Melodyne software and patented DNA Direct Note Access technology, confirmed an agreement with iZotope to bundle its Melodyne 4 essential tools with iZotope's Nectar 3. With its musical editing possibilities, Melodyne is the ideal companion to Nectar 3, a sophisticated set of tools designed for vocal production, allowing to perfectly shape the intonation, timing, sound, and dynamics of vocals.

German company Celemony announced the availability of Melodyne 4.1, featuring even better integration with selected DAWs, new functions and greater ease of use. When Melodyne is integrated into a DAW by means of ARA, Version 4.1 now allows the simultaneous display and editing of an unlimited number of DAW tracks in a single Melodyne plug-in window – ideal for backing vocals and other multitrack applications.
