Amphenol Corporation, the global provider of high-technology interconnect, antenna and sensor solutions, continues its expansion and now announced that it has completed the planned acquisition of MTS Systems Corporation. MTS is the company that had acquired PCB Group in 2016, becoming the owner of PCB Piezotronics and Larson Davis. Amphenol will now sell the test and simulation business of MTS to ITW (Illinois Tool Works), as agreed in December 2020.

As a leading global sensor supplier, PCB Piezotronics continues to invest in state-of-the-art pressure assembly operations. The company, a wholly owned subsidiary of MTS Systems Corporation, announced the completion of new environmentally controlled clean rooms totaling 4,300 sq. ft. at their Walden Avenue headquarters. Earlier this year, the sensor manufacturer began assembly of all pressure and force products in this new state-of-the-art facility.

PCB Piezotronics, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of MTS Systems Corporation, was awarded a patent for a universal phantom powered preamplifier. PCB engineers Mark Nowak and Drew Karkau are inventors of the patent for Model 426A14, describing a phantom powered preamp for use with a microphone cartridge having a unique mechanical interface, which allows the phantom powered preamp to function with both 1/4" and 1/2" microphone cartridges.
