Solid State Logic Creates UF1 DAW Control Surface Module

Solid State Logic announced a new single fader controller module, the UF1 DAW Control Centre, designed with an advanced software workflow for intuitive control features. SSL continues to leverage its successful strategy to repackage every single stage of its legendary audio consoles, while creating new modules to bridge modern production methods using digital audio workstations (DAW). The new UF1 control module provides complete visual feedback, and deep integration in combination with the new SSL Meter Plug-in and SSL 360° software.

In a surprise announcement, TASCAM launched its new Sonicview Recording Mixer line available as either the TASCAM Sonicview 16XP or TASCAM Sonicview 24XP models. Both units incorporate state-of-the-art technology and a new multi-screen user interface called VIEW (Visual Interactive Ergonomic Workflow) to allow easy operation and control of all system parameters using completely customizable touch screens, user-definable buttons, and intuitive control software.

Solid State Logic introduced a new compact DAW control surface that redefines the category by relying on a combination of serial communication via USB and its own 360° control software and MIDI USB driver, making it relatively protocol independent. The new SSL UF8 takes lessons learned from many years building control extensions within studio mixing consoles like the SSL Origin, or dedicated studio DAW controllers like the SSL Nucleus. The expandable and modular UF8 is an interesting evolution.
