AudioControl Reinvents Distributed Audio with New Dual-Mode GaN-Based Amplifier Design

AudioControl has announced the introduction of three highly versatile CM Series amplifiers using GaN technology and a new proprietary circuit design for compatibility with both 70-volt and 4/8-Ohm loudspeakers (Dual Mode). These new CM Series amplifiers offer DSP control, matrixing capabilities, Dante digital audio networking and all the critical features integrators must have to satisfy every imaginable application including superior audio performance and build quality.

Celestion introduced the FTR12-4080DL 12-inch, low frequency 4-ohm driver which is specifically designed for subwoofer applications, offering a compact and powerful alternative with a cast aluminum chassis and ferrite magnet. Well-established as an 8-ohm driver, this purpose-built subwoofer is now available in 4-ohm, making it ideal for applications that are hungry for every watt of amplifier power when delivering uncompromising bass.

In this article, Jack Elliano the founder and principal designer behind Electra-Print Audio, details a simple but very interesting concept of a line amplifier using step-up transformers plus a variable gain control, offering usable results from low impedance sources.
