Chord Electronics Announces Ultima Pre 3 Preamplifier

Chord Electronics has announced an all-new ground-up-design analog preamplifier, the Ultima Pre 3. The new design harnesses more than 30 years of the company's amplifier-building expertise and takes advantage of the very latest developments in advanced low-distortion, switched-mode power supplies. According to the British company, coupled with the company’s latest circuit design, the Ultima Pre 3 offers exceptionally low noise and new levels of performance.

Chord Electronics has launched its first ever small desktop integrated amplifier, Anni. Capable of driving both headphones and compact loudspeakers, the small by mighty Anni benefits from the company’s proprietary Ultima circuit topology and is perfectly positioned to exploit the full potential of today’s high-performance headphones, desktop monitors and high-resolution audio sources. The Anni forms part of Chord's Qutest range of compact products and pairs perfectly with the Qutest standalone DAC and Huei phono stage.

Three decades in development, John Franks’ next-generation Ultima amplifier technology filters down into two new mono power amplifiers, the Ultima 2 and Ultima 3, part of Chord Electronics’ ongoing 30th-anniversary celebrations. First unveiled in October 2018, the new Ultima amplifier topology, to date exclusive to the range-topping £30,000 Ultima power amp, is now more affordable than ever, with the two new mono power amps sharing the same Chord Electronics DNA.

With its 30th-anniversary year fast approaching, British manufacturer Chord Electronics has launched ULTIMA, a new state-of-the-art flagship amplifier featuring John Franks’ latest circuit topology, the first all-new design in three decades. The company introduces the ULTIMA mono amplifier and the matching preamp as "the ultimate expression of the finest high-performance, ultra-fast, ultra-high-power amplifier technology available today." The ULTIMA set (pre and 2x mono power amps) is available for £90,000 (approx. $116,000 USD).
