Dolby Collaborates With Cinemo To Accelerate Dolby Atmos Music Experience In Cars

Dolby Laboratories announced a collaboration with Cinemo, a leading global provider of automotive infotainment middleware. The goal is to accelerate the integration of Dolby Atmos into vehicles. During Dolby’s panel at the IAA Munich International Mobility Show 2021, discussing how the immersive sound technology is set to drive a revolution for in car entertainment, the company confirmed Cinemo has become the very first middleware licensee globally of the Dolby Car Experience.

British loudspeaker company Bowers & Wilkins, famed for bringing its knowledge and acoustic experience to the automotive industry, has extended its successful partnership with BMW, with the launch of the iX, the new luxury electric SAV from BMW. The Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System is now fitted in the iX, delivering what the Brande defines as "the most advanced sound quality found in a car." The iX goes on sale in Spring 2022.

Harman International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, announced that the new Renault Mégane E-TECH Electric, scheduled to be launched in 2022, will feature an advanced Harman Kardon sound system. This is a first step in the partnership between Harman International's brand Harman Kardon, and the world-renowned French automobile manufacturer. The new model uses 3rd Generation Snapdragon Automotive Cockpit Platforms from Qualcomm Technologies and is completely Google and Android-based.
