audioXpress.com: The Most Popular Stories Of 2017

This year we thought our readers would like to know which of the topics and stories published online in 2017 were the most popular for our community. We looked at the most-read articles of 2017 in audioXpress.com (which also includes selected articles from Voice Coil magazine), and we created this Top 10 list of news stories and online articles. Here are the results!

The new Bowers & Wilkins 700 Series develops the ethos of the CM Series it replaces, adds technology from the 800 Series Diamond and new, bespoke acoustic innovations to produce the brand's best-performing range of loudspeakers in its class. The B&W 700 Series is a wide-ranging, comprehensive collection of eight loudspeakers available in standard stereo or complete home cinema configurations, from the flagship 702 S2 to the new DB4S active subwoofer.

Among several new products, at CEDIA 2017, Dynaudio introduced two new subwoofers that deliver outstanding performance from compact enclosures optimized for home cinema environments. The Sub 3 and Sub 6 replace the previous Sub 250 and Sub 600 models – and add some clever technology. The new Sub 3 offers power and punch in a compact design, while the new Sub 6 combines intelligent DSP technology with a highly-advanced new driver design.

Dutch power amplifier and DSP specialist Hypex Electronics has been updating its vast product range at such an impressive pace that's hard to keep track. Among the many new modules in its Class D NCore amplifier range, Hypex introduced the new NCAS500MP module, high efficiency two-channel (400W and 100Wrms at 4 Ohm) solution for active speakers. This module will be soon joined by the new NCAS1000MP with two 800Wrms and 200Wrms channels.

SEAS just announced final plans for a KingRO4Y Mk II edition, a high performance powered loudspeaker kit featuring a L26RO4Y subwoofer and the completely new C18EN002/A midrange coaxial driver, designed by Håvard Sollien at the SEAS R&D laboratory. The project will soon include full assembly instructions, but the first details are already published in the company's website.
