CEVA Expands Sensor Fusion Product Line with New Sensor Hub MCU for High Precision Motion Tracking and Orientation Detection

CEVA announced an expansion to its family of sensor fusion products with the introduction of the FSP201, a high-performance and low-power sensor hub MCU that delivers precise, accurate sensor fusion for motion tracking, heading and orientation detection. The FSP201 is ideal for consumer robotics and other emerging smart devices employing sensor fusion technologies, including XR glasses, 3D audio headsets and the wide range of 6-axis motion use cases across IoT and the metaverse.

Immersive 3D/spatial audio - combined with XR/360 video - can transport you away from your home and into the middle of a lush forest with the sound of twigs crunching below you, a deer running off in the East, and the flapping of wings as your eyes follow a cardinal flying away. In the wake of the acquisition of the Hillcrest Laboratories (Hillcrest Labs) business from InterDigital in mid-2019, CEVA now introduced the Hillcrest Labs MotionEngine Hear, a sensor and processor agnostic embedded software solution for hearable devices. The new solution allows SoC vendors, OEMs and ODMs to take advantage of a configurable sensor fusion platform to add intuitive user interface, gesture control, activity tracking and spatial audio capabilities to hearable devices.

At CES 2020 CEVA unveiled SenslinQ, its first integrated hardware IP and software platform that aggregates sensor fusion, sound and connectivity technologies to enable contextually aware connected devices. The CEVA SenslinQ integrated hardware IP and software platform collects, processes and links data from multiple sensors to enable intelligent devices to understand their surroundings - a key development for augmented hearing using wireless headphones and earbuds.

CEVA announced the acquisition of the Hillcrest Laboratories, Inc. (Hillcrest Labs) business from InterDigital. Hillcrest Labs is a leading global supplier of software and components for sensor processing in consumer and IoT devices, and the acquisition extends CEVA’s connected technology portfolio with highly complementary sensor processing technologies that have powered more than 100 million devices.
