SEAS Announces New Excel Graphene W12CY004 Midrange Woofer

SEAS continues hard at work, expanding its Excel Graphene driver series with new models that fully explore the benefits of its proven magnesium cones enhanced with graphene coating that effectively eliminates resonances and makes them more resistant. SEAS now introduced the Excel Graphene W12CY004 (E0070-08), a very compact (4" cone) driver featuring a state-of-the-art FEA optimized motor-design that can be used both as a dedicated midrange and as a woofer in a small compact speaker.

The new Excel Graphene line was initiated with the launch of the W16NX003 midbass driver in February 2019, and the new 8-inch woofer, the W22NX001, is now the fourth product in this new line from SEAS. The new W22NX001 (E0077-08) also represents a successor to the famous W22EX001 (E0022-08) from SEAS, and it's been upgraded like other products with the new graphene cone technology, as well as a new longer voice coil with a titanium former, magnet system with copper rings and caps, and a thicker ferrite magnet, designed and optimized for lower distortion and high power handling.

On this edition of Test Bench, Vance Dickason continues to measure one of the most anticipated driver designs launched in the market in 2019, from SEAS's new Excel Graphene line. SEAS announced its fourth speaker model in the company's new Excel Graphene line, designed for modern high-res audio reproduction. The new C16NX001/F is also the first coaxial driver using the magnesium cone treated with the new graphene nano-coating formula, and the successor to the famous C16N001/F (E0051-04/06) driver from SEAS, implementing all the improvements the company introduced into the W16NX003 woofer.

Following the introduction of its completely new Excel Graphene Woofer Series with the W16NX003 (E0073-08), followed recently by the 19-series W19NX001 (E0076-08), SEAS Fabrikker announced the third product in the line, the W18EX003 (E0074-08). According to SEAS, the new line is designed for truthful high-res audio reproduction with outstanding clarity and dynamic capability in mind, and the new W18EX003 represents a successor to the famous W18EX001 (E0017-08) model. All Excel Graphene drivers feature a graphene-coated magnesium cone.

Following the announcement in early March 2019 of a completely new Excel Graphene Woofer Series and the commercial introduction of the new W16NX003 E0073-08 driver, the first in the new Excel Graphene series, SEAS Fabrikker now announced a completely new product-size series as part of the new Excel Graphene product line. Named the 19-series, the new woofers are classical 176 mm in diameter, but with a new basket design and larger roll surround, with focus on improved linear excursion capability and dynamic headroom in the bass.
