Snips Offers Offline Options for Voice Control and Voice Assistants to OEM's at CES 2019

Original equipment manufacturers (OEM) interested in implementing voice control in their new products without depending on Alexa or Google Assistant should visit Snips at CES 2019. Snips.ai is a French company that provides embedded voice assistants and interfaces for connected devices that run locally and offline. This year the company won a CES 2019 Best of Innovation Awards in the Embedded Technology category and will be demonstrating its technology at CES in the Eureka Park.

During the RISC-V Summit, in Santa Clara, CA, Western Digital announced three new open-source innovations designed to support Western Digital’s internal RISC-V development efforts and those of the growing RISC-V ecosystem. In his keynote address, Western Digital’s Chief Technology Officer Martin Fink unveiled plans to release a new open source RISC-V core, an open standard initiative for cache coherent memory over a network and an open source RISC-V instruction set simulator.

The NCS 2 was introduced at Intel's first artificial intelligence (AI) developer conference in Beijing (Nov. 14-15, 2018), an event were the company promoted its vision for building smarter AI algorithms and intelligent devices at the network edge.

Cadence Design Systems announced the Cadence Tensilica HiFi 5 DSP for audio and voice, the company's first IP core optimized for high-performance far-field processing and artificial intelligence (AI)-based speech recognition processing. This fifth-generation HiFi DSP offers 2X audio processing and 4X neural network (NN) processing improvements versus the HiFi 4 DSP, making it ideal for voice-controlled user interfaces in digital home assistants and automotive infotainment.

During Mobile World Congress 2018, in Barcelona, Bragi, the company behind The Dash hearable, now the world’s first intelligent Edge Headphone, announced a B2B offer of Bragi nanoAI as a software solution, which the company says helps to overcome major challenges of the current IoT architecture.
