Sennheiser Promises to Revolutionize Wireless Audio Transmission in Large Events with WMAS

WMAS is the not-very-imaginative acronym for Wireless Multi-Channel Audio Systems, a technology and system approach that Sennheiser has been developing for over 10 years. The German company is currently having meetings with regulatory bodies, and promoting demonstrations to high-profile wireless users and decision-makers. Reasons enough for Sennheiser to decide to unveil details about the upcoming new type of wireless audio transmission technology.

SoundHound, the voice-enabled AI and conversational intelligence technology company, announced a partnership with Wcities, a travel and entertainment content publisher specializing in city guides and event aggregators, to bring location-based events data to the Houndify voice AI platform. This new collaboration will provide developers using Houndify with information on more than 3 million events worldwide to include in voice-enabled apps and services via Wcities’ eventseeker APIs.

An unusual global launch at ISE 2017 in Amsterdam for Electro-Voice was the introduction of the new X12-125F flying subwoofer, matching the same form factor and performance-matched with the remaining X-Line Advance line array series elements. The new subwoofer features dual 15-inch high-output transducers in a very compact enclosure that can be flown or ground-stacked, including a user-friendly integrated rigging System for quick, secure deployment in X1 and X2 arrays.

Streaming music service Spotify announced the acquisition of social media aggregator CrowdAlbum to enhance the development of products that help artists understand, activate, and monetize their audiences. Having reached 30 million paid subscribers, the Swedish company is expanding its services to artists, providing insights about their listeners and introducing Concerts to promote artists’ shows to relevant fans - two new Spotify tools recently developed with CrowdAlbum.
