Dirac Opteo and Dirac Virtuo Automotive Audio Solutions Now Running on NXP Audio ICs

Dirac announced an expanded collaboration with NXP Semiconductors to combine Dirac’s digital audio solutions for entry-level vehicle sound systems with NXP’s SAF4000 multi-standard software defined radio processors. This collaboration now allows automakers to digitally upgrade the performance of entry-level sound systems, which are typically those supplied in cars utilizing up to 9 speakers.

Meridian continues to expand its automotive audio business working in close cooperation with car makers. The British audio pioneer has now unveiled the results of its work with Kia Corporation taking in-car audio to another level in the brand new K8 modern sedan. Featuring a purpose-designed 14-speaker surround sound system, Meridian has worked with Kia to provide an exceptional audio inside the new K8 model exploring all the possibilities of its proprietary DSP audio technologies.

McIntosh Laboratory announced that its latest McIntosh Entertainment Systems — the MX1375 Reference Entertainment System, employing 23 specifically tuned speakers, and the MX950 Entertainment System, are going to hit the road in the upcoming 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Both vehicles will be available in mid-2021. The two iconic American brands have been collaborating to develop an exclusive sound system combining imagination and expert engineering in equal parts.
