Røde Wireless PRO Expands Leadership on Wireless Microphone Systems

Røde has once again reacted quickly to the increasing competition in a market that it helped create, adding the most requested features in its just announced Wireless PRO wireless microphone system. The Wireless PRO is a compact dual-channel wireless microphone system using Røde’s state-of-the-art Series IV 2.4GHz digital transmission with 128-bit encryption, able to achieve stable audio up to 260m (850ft) in line of sight. It adds 32-bit floating point recording, advanced timecode, and much more.

At NAB 2023, Sennheiser launched its 5th generation of Evolution Wireless systems for camera applications. Purpose-built for content creators, filmmakers, and broadcasters, the EW-DP is a fully digital UHF wireless microphone system with a new portable design and improved audio quality. The compact EW-DP EK receiver, at the heart of the system features an easy to read OLED display, an innovative magnetic stacking system, and can be conveniently controlled remotely via the Smart Assist app.

Sony Electronics has announced an expansion to its UWP-D Digital Wireless Microphone systems with the new URX-P41D two-channel portable receiver, supporting a MI (Multi Interface) shoe connector with Digital Audio Interface in a more compact design. The URX-P41D boasts all the key features included in the 4th Generation UWP-D Series, such as improved high sound quality, NFC Sync for quick and easy set-up from Receiver to Transmitter, and functions such as Auto Gain mode and Output level control, making the job of recording sound even easier.

At IBC 2015, Sennheiser unveiled the EK 6042, a new slot-in true-diversity camera receiver that can work with both analog and digital Sennheiser wireless audio transmitters across a bandwidth of 184 MHz. A true all-rounder for professional camera sound, the EK 6042 two-channel receiver works with the Sennheiser series 9000, 5000, 3000, 2000 and evolution wireless.
