Cable Matters Launches USB4 20Gbps Switch for All-in-One Connectivity Solution

Cable Matters, a leading manufacturer of connectivity solutions, introduced a USB4 20Gbps Switch that allows controlling two computers. How? It turns a standard USB-C docking station into a USB-C KVM switch, letting two devices share one USB-C docking station. This means instantly sharing a USB-C or Thunderbolt monitor, or a Thunderbolt docking station between two laptops. Control is done directly on the surface of the device, or with an RF remote control (included) for living room and entertainment applications.

Top-tier connectivity vendor Cable Matters announced the launch of its Thunderbolt 5 cable, manufactured by Taiwan-based Lintes Technology, delivering significant improvements in connectivity speed and bandwidth. The cable is available in 3 different lengths: 1 foot (30cm), 1.6 feet (48cm), and 3.3 feet (1 meter) and will fully support up to 80 Gbps of bi-directional data transfer and up to 120 Gbps of video bandwidth, a substantial leap from the previous Thunderbolt 4 technology.
