Celestion Introduces HornWizard App for High Frequency Horn Design

As a leading manufacturer of professional audio drivers for sound reinforcement applications, as well as guitar and bass loudspeakers, Celestion has a long history with horns and horn-loaded transducer design, an area the company continues to explore in new designs and to better support customers projects and requirements. The Celestion engineering team programmed its own tools for horn simulation. Now, Celestion announced HornWizard, a new desktop and mobile application which is basically a portal to the company’s powerful horn design software.

The book High-Quality Horn Loudspeaker Systems — History, Theory and Design, written by Bjørn Kolbrek and Thomas Dunker, was presented during the 147th Audio Engineering Society (AES) Convention in New York, NY, and is available in a limited first edition. The massive 1,070-page hardcover book caused quite an impression among Audio Engineering Society (AES) members and audioXpress authors. Dario Cinanni details its acoustic simulation study about high-frequency horn driver transducers. Using a novel equation that correlates the matrix of a virtual horn and measured compression driver pressure, it is possible to easily predict the absolute sound pressure level (SPL) of the real horn driver frequency response.
