The Auracast Experience at CES 2024 enabled much more awareness about the possibilities of the technology and certainly caused a lot of press coverage. Coordinated by IRCAM Research Centre in collaboration with Amadeus and VRTUOZ, ‘Continuum’ is a 3-year research project, paving the way to new augmented sonic experiences for the performing arts field. Under this framework, the project intends to create a software solution for modeling room acoustic impulse response at high resolution, a hybrid reverb engine, and active acoustic enhancement systems for performing arts venues, all of which will be available in the Holophonix environment.

Flexound Augmented Audio, the innovative haptics audio company from Finland, appointed Isak Olevic as the new CEO. Olevic, an experienced automotive and audio business executive, comes from Sweden and has a vast executive experience at Volvo, Harman International, and Ericsson. He will assume responsibilities for Flexound on January 1, 2022, succeeding Flexound co-founder Mervi Heinaro, who was recently appointed as the Deputy Mayor of the City of Espoo, Finland. Mervi remains a partner in the company as well as a member of the Advisory Board.
