Audio Engineering Society Requests Expressions of Interest in AES75 Standard

The Audio Engineering Society announced the adoption and publication of the AES75 standard for acoustics - "Measuring loudspeaker maximum linear sound levels using noise - in March of 2022. The AES SC-04-03-A task group is currently in the process of publicizing the 2022 AES75 standard and has issued an industry appeal of support from audio manufacturers, audio test and measurement solutions manufacturers, and audio measurement services providers.

Practical Test & Measurement: The Benefits of Using Structure-Borne Sound in Headset Signal Processing

This article looks at the practical test and measurement of bone conduction technology, as used in product development for headsets and in-ear devices. It showcases new possibilities for manufacturers to better evaluate device performance, since no appropriate test equipment and methods were commercially available until now. The approach, complements a Head-and-Torso Simulator (HATS) with an actuator capable of generating structure-borne sound in the artificial ear. Klippel has now released their second software update for the Klippel Analyzer System with various new features for both R&D and QC applications. The update is free of charge for all users running dB-Lab 212 or QC7. It introduces a utility Documentation Module (DOC) for use in dB-Lab, TEDS integration for microphones, and updates for the QC Stand-alone Software.
