Diodes Targets Wireless Media Speakers with New 10W Stereo Class-D Audio Power Amplifier

Semiconductor manufacturer Diodes Incorporated announced the PAM8106, a new 10W stereo Class-D audio amplifier featuring low THD+N, low EMI, and high PSRR, while integrating spread-spectrum modulation (SSM) and non-clipping power limit (NCPL) technology to deliver advanced features for a range of battery- or line-powered devices including LCD TVs, wireless speakers, portable stereos, and game machines.

Texas Instruments (TI) introduced a low-power smart amplifier that allows designers to develop next-generation smartphones, tablets, portable audio docks or Bluetooth speakers with industry-leading audio quality at peak volumes while maximizing battery efficiency. The TAS2555 audio amplifier with integrated speaker protection uses back electromotive force and low power of 5.7 W to produce bigger sound from small devices.

Diodes introduced its new PAM8905 Class-D audio power amplifier with integrated boost converter and battery tracking AGC. This highly-integrated solution drives up to 1.9W (1% THD+N) into an 8 ohm speaker with 85% typical efficiency, helping to extend battery life when playing audio in smartphones, portable electronics and low-power speakers.
