Apogee New Special Edition 2×6 I/O Module for Symphony I/O Mk II

Apogee Electronics announced a new 2×6 Special Edition AD/DA module for their flagship Symphony I/O Mk II Studio Interface. Designed specifically for mastering engineers, whose critical work demands ultimate sonic performance, Apogee says that the new Symphony I/O Mk II 2×6 SE now offers the highest quality AD/DA conversion of any of the brand's converters ever. Symphony I/O Mk II 2×6 SE is available preconfigured for Thunderbolt or Pro Tools HD or it can be purchased as an expansion module for any existing Mk II configuration.

Waves Audio and Apogee announced the availability of a new optional card with Waves SoundGrid connectivity for Apogee’s Symphony I/O Mk II multi-channel audio interface. With a simple Ethernet connection, the audio interface can be easily accessed from any computer, shared between multiple rooms, multiple computers and supercharged with almost infinite real-time DSP power via Waves SoundGrid servers.

Apogee and Sennheiser announced that its co-developed Sennheiser AMBEO Smart Headset is now available at Apple.com and Apple Stores in the US, just in time for the holidays. And it's now available in black, for those channels. An interesting note about the announcement is that, since the binaural headset was launched in May 2017, Sennheiser is now promoting it in a slightly different way, highlighting its use more as a hearing enhancer and high-quality listening device.

Apogee introduced their new MiC Plus, professional quality USB microphone for iPad, iPhone, Mac and PC, designed for music production, voice recording, or live streaming. A significant upgrade to the Apogee MiC product family first introduced in 2011, MiC plus features an entirely new design with improved sound quality, dynamic range and built-in headphone output for latency-free monitoring while recording on any device.

In another example of direct collaboration between Californian audio hardware specialists Apogee Digital and Apple, Apogee Ensemble Thunderbolt and Element Series audio interfaces now offer Direct Monitoring support in Apple’s Logic Pro X (10.3.2) that easily eliminates recording latency with the simple click of a button. Pressing the new “Direct” button causes the monitoring signal to come directly from the hardware input, bypassing any I/O buffer or plug-in induced latency.
