Universal Audio Releases UAD Software v9.1 with New Plug-Ins, Expanded Support for Windows 10 and macOS

Universal Audio announced the release of its new UAD Software v9.1, now with Apollo multi-unit support over Thunderbolt for Windows 10 systems, Console 2 software support to users of multiple Apollo FireWire interfaces and fully qualified macOS Sierra for all Apollo and UAD-2 platforms. The professional audio recording hardware and software manufacturer also announced bountiful new plug-ins from SSL, Moog, Softube, and Brainworx.

First day of NAMM 2017, and Universal Audio unveiled its new Apollo Twin MkII desktop audio interface, a much improved version of the popular Apollo Twin, introduced in 2014. The new MkII version delivers next-generation 24-bit/192 kHz AD/DA audio conversion with Unison Technology, Realtime UAD Processing, now up to UAD-2 QUAD processing, talkback functionality, and improved monitoring functions to Mac and Windows users over Thunderbolt 2.

Universal Audio enjoyed success with its range of Apollo Thunderbolt (1 and 2) interfaces because of the quality and lower latency when using realtime UAD processing and the company’s Unison technology. The company promised to launch Thunderbolt 3/USB 3.1 compatible drivers for both Windows 10 and Apple Mac. Now, Universal Audio announced Thunderbolt compatibility for Windows 10 users, while launching its new UAD Software v9.0 with new powerful plug-ins.

Arriving in stores October 2015, Universal Audio’s new Apollo Twin USB audio interface takes the same class-leading sound quality and flexibility of the original Thunderbolt Realtime UAD Processing and Unison technology to Windows users over USB 3. While everyone waits for Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.1 to reach the market, this will have to do.
