Telos Alliance's Minnetonka AudioTools Server Adds MPEG-H Audio Authoring Workflow

Telos Alliance announced the integration of Fraunhofer IIS's MPEG-H authoring workflow into its Minnetonka AudioTools Server. The toolset is suitable for a wide variety of audio-processing fields and brings numerous benefits to terrestrial, IPTV, and satellite broadcast, as well as content pre- and post-production. Fraunhofer IIS’s MPEG-H Audio authoring workflow delivers enables Next-Generation Audio (NGA) workflows adding to the immersive audio tools already available.

The Audio Engineering Society (AES) has been named a recipient of a Technical & Engineering Emmy Award for “Development of Synchronized multi-channel uncompressed audio transport over IP Networks” by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). The 71st annual Technical & Engineering Emmy Awards will be presented in a special ceremony at the upcoming NAB Show at the Wynn Encore Hotel on Sunday, April 19, 2020, in Las Vegas, NV.

The new compact 2RU device from Telos offers 16 stereo codecs, configurable as 8 bi-directional pairs or 16 one-way streams, with ability to send audio to up to 8 IP destinations per encoder, perfect for multi-program distribution. The new Zephyr iPort PLUS now adds Content Delay and aptX Enhanced coding as an option.

At the end of October, the AES hosted its first AES67 interoperability “PlugFest” at the IRT in Munich. 15 people from 10 different companies gathered for 4 days, testing 15 different AES67 implementations for basic interoperability. The result was very promising, as all the implementations were able to interoperate with each other.
