Sound Devices Releases the A20-RX with SpectraBand Technology

Sound Devices is shipping a new two channel, true diversity receiver with industry-exclusive SpectraBand technology. SpectraBand gives the new Sound Devices A20-RX receiver and A20-Mini transmitter an unprecedented tuning range, from 470 MHz to 1525 MHz. The A20-RX also features high-discrimination front end filtering for better performance in noisy RF environments and Frequency AutoAssign for faster setup.

Lectrosonics announced the introduction of the DSR and DSR5P dual-channel and DSR4 quad-channel digital slot receivers. The new receivers are compatible with all the current Lectrosonics mono and stereo digital transmitters and are backward compatible with any of the Digital Hybrid Wireless transmitters made in the past 20 years. These new-generation receivers provide the highest level of RF and audio performance available for field and location production.

Sound Devices announced the third mixer-recorder in their new 8-Series: the 888 Portable Production Mixer-Recorder. The 888 is the smallest location mixer-recorder available that offers Dante for sending and receiving audio over Ethernet. Featuring also 8 ultra low-noise, 8-Series microphone preamplifiers, 16 channels, 20 tracks, multiple powering methods, and support for multiple USB control surfaces, the 888 can be easily tailored to any sound professional’s workflow.

Sound Devices surprised the market with its new 833 Portable Compact Mixer-Recorder, unveiled at IBC 2019 in Amsterdam. This new release from Sound Devices features 6 ultra low-noise mic/line preamplifiers, 8 channels, 6 buses, 12 tracks, 6 analog outputs, a 256 GB internal SSD, two SD card slots, and dual L-Mount charging and powering. A versatile solution for any field production, the 833 features ultra-accurate timecode and Dugan Automixing for up to 8 channels.

Sound Devices announced firmware version 2.00 for its Scorpio 32-channel / 36-track portable mixer-recorder launched earlier this year. Designed for state-of-the-art production sound, with the new firmware the Scorpio gains significant new possibilities, including Dugan Automixing and other anticipated features such as support for additional third party USB control surfaces and the ability to email CSV and PDF Sound Reports from the companion app SD-Remote.

Sound Devices introduced its next generation 12-input, 16-track portable mixer/recorder. The new 688 is the center of an extensible mixing and recording system incorporating MixAssist, Sound Devices automatic mixing technology. The 688 accepts the new SL-6 SuperSlot powering and wireless accessory and simplifies power distribution and interconnection.
