Electro-Voice Introduces Cardioid Point-Source Loudspeakers for Large Venues

Electro-Voice expanded its portfolio of sound solutions for stadiums and sports venues with the global introduction of the MTS series of full-range, high-output, long-throw, point-source loudspeaker systems. Each MTS model is equipped with four 15" woofers and dual coaxial mid/high frequency compression drivers. The system is capable of generating more than 151 dB peak SPL with exact directivity for very-long-throw applications.

Biamp Systems, a manufacturer of video and audio networked solutions for commercial audio applications based in Beaverton, Oregon, announced the acquisition of Audioprof Group International, parent company of Community Loudspeakers based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Apart Audio based in Antwerp, Belgium from 3d Investors of Gent, Belgium. The strategic acquisition follows the expansion strategy defined by Rashid Skaf, Biamp's President and CEO, appointed by Highlander Partners, a private investment firm which acquired Biamp in November 2017.

Building on the continued success of the fully-weatherized Danley OS-80 & OS-90 loudspeakers and the OS-115 subwoofer, Danley Sound Labs introduced the Danley OS-12CX wide-coverage loudspeaker. The Danley OS-12CX uses Danley's patented Synergy crossover design, Sentinel limiter protection circuitry, and stainless steel mounting hardware that is prepared to brace the OS-12CX against mother nature's worst.

Harman Professional Solutions introduced the new JBL Professional VLA Compact Series line array, combining out-of-the-box weather protection for small to mid-sized stadiums and arenas. Built upon the industry-leading capabilities of the JBL Variable Line Array (VLA) Series of long-throw line arrays, the new VLA Compact Series offers the same performance quality in a more compact, outdoor-ready solution for use in larger venues where speakers are mounted a long distance from the listener.

Meyer Sound’s Director of System Optimization, Bob McCarthy, will be a keynote speaker during the 59th International AES Conference at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, taking place July 15-17, 2015, with an emphasis on Sound Reinforcement Engineering and Technology.
