McIntosh Launches its Most Powerful Single-Chassis Monoblock Amplifier

1,200 watts, 71kg, and $12,500 USD. The new MC1.25KW Quad Balanced Power Amplifier is one of McIntosh’s most advanced amplifiers to date, and the brand’s most powerful single-chassis monoblock amplifier, redesigned from top to bottom. It directly replaces its predecessor, the MC1.2KW and offers 1,200 watts of pure power into a single channel with a nearly imperceptible distortion (0.005%).

McIntosh has announced its first Portable Decoding Amplifier (DAC/headphone amp) the MHA50, which offers wireless connectivity to devices via aptX Bluetooth 4.1. With a price tag close to that of a top of the range smartphone, this portable music playback device is targeted at enthusiasts of the famous brand, also looking to match their McIntosh headphone experience everywhere. The new device features a high-quality amplifier plus a high-performance 32-bit digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) with high-res audio playback.

McIntosh Laboratory’s new MX160 processor combines 4K Ultra HD video, HDBaseT connectivity, Dolby Atmos and Auro-3D immersive audio support, high-resolution audio support, RoomPerfect correction technology, and more with the brand’s legendary sound quality. The new MX160 replaces the existing MX151 and brings McIntosh’s sound and build quality to a new level.

Anticipating CEDIA 2015’ presentations, Oct. 14-17, in Dallas, DTS announced several new additions to the DTS Play-Fi whole-home wireless audio ecosystem, including new hardware partners and compatible audio component products, new and expanded music services, and an enhanced user interface. This expansion increases the Play-Fi ecosystem’s selection of audio products to 30 different offerings.
