Renesas Lays Out Roadmap for Wi-Fi 6/6E and 7 Chipsets

During the electronica 2022 show in Munich, Germany, Renesas Electronics unveiled plans to deliver a comprehensive set of advanced Wi-Fi offerings to complement its broad portfolio of industrial and connected products. In 2021, Renesas completed its acquisition of Celeno, a company from Israel specializing in wireless communication solutions, including advanced Wi-Fi chipsets for high-performance home networks, and is leveraging that technology to address a wide range WLAN access point applications for Wi-Fi 6/6E and Wi-Fi 7.

After securing a position in the high-end automotive market, Swedish audio processing pioneer Dirac now announced the introduction of a new digital audio solution designed specifically for entry-level audio systems. The new automotive audio solution is built upon the company’s 15-year legacy working in the high-end space, while also featuring innovations that address the specific needs of sound systems that address the specific requirements of entry-level vehicles.

Swedish digital audio processing pioneer Dirac and ASUS, the electronics powerhouse, have raised the bar on mobile audio with the new ASUS ROG Phone 5, which features a new level of sound fidelity for a smartphone with dual speakers, delivering a spatial soundscape and accurate stereo sound localization. The ASUS ROG Phone 5 now becomes the first smartphone to feature Dirac’s breakthrough MIMO mixed phase speaker co-optimization technology.

Airgain, a leading provider of advanced antenna technologies, announced the development of a Wi-Fi 6 reference design with Quantenna Communications. The new design will enable swift development of high performance IEEE 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) devices incorporating Airgain’s Wi-Fi 6 antenna solution and Quantenna’s high-performance Wi-Fi 6 chipset, the QSR10GU-AX PLUS.

Dirac Research announced that its Dirac Panorama Sound solution will finally make its smartphone debut in the Smartisan Nut R1 smartphone. Dirac Panorama Sound is a pioneering speaker-optimization solution that produces immersive surround sound audio from embedded speakers positioned only a few inches apart from one another in products such as smartphones and portable speakers.
