Qualcomm also announced multiple new audio platforms for next-gen wireless speakers, headphones and hearables, each one uniquely tailored to support new market demands, particularly as consumers rapidly adopt wireless audio devices.

Harman International, now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, announced the second generation JBL Everest series, a line of four wireless, state-of-the-art in-ear, on-ear and around-ear Bluetooth headphones. According to Harman, the new line features a freshly updated comfort-driven smart design, with the flagship model Elite 750NC combining Adaptive Noise-Cancelling and the freedom of wireless connectivity in a supposedly programable platform.

Edgar van Velzen Named as New beyerdynamic CEO

With effect from 1 June 2017, the Administrative Board of beyerdynamic GmbH & Co. KG has named Dutchman Edgar van Velzen (51) as the company’s new managing director and CEO. Together with Wolfgang Luckhardt (57), long-standing managing director, he is now at the helm of the Heilbronn-based, German audio specialist. Most recently, van Velzen was CEO of Teufel GmbH in Berlin.
