Pioneer Announces New Home Theater Receivers featuring Dolby Atmos, Wi-fi, Bluetooth and HRA support.

Pioneer Home Entertainment USA announced two new Pioneer Elite home theater receivers that will meet the needs of custom installers, and two new consumer home theater receivers. All models feature HDCP 2.2 compliance, HDMI 2.0, built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, DSD file playback and more. The 7.2 models are able to decode and play back Dolby Atmos content.

The High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) specification currently supports one of the most successful consumer electronics standards. Fourteen years passed since the original HDMI 1.0 specification the HDMI Forum announced the new HDMI 2.0 specification with some interesting features for the audio industry, including better support for high-resolution audio options.

Recently announced by the USB 3.0 Promoter Group, the release of the USB Type-C specification, combines SuperSpeed USB 10 Gbps and USB Power Delivery up to 100W, providing a flexible enough solution to fit the varied needs of consumers. Now, VESA confirms the new USB Type-C Connector also enables DisplayPort capabilities.
