Alango ListenThrough Fosters Auditory Alertness While Using Headphones

Audio transparency is not as simple as it sounds. Slip on a pair of headphones or earbuds and you’ll shut yourself off from critical sounds. With its vast experience in DSP processing software, Alango Technologies developed ListenThrough, a “smart algorithm” for headphones/earphones that allows enjoyment of the music while staying alert to important environmental sounds. Instead of simply filtering selected frequencies, ListenThrough mixes environmental ambient sounds into the A2DP music stream, thus allowing the user to be aware of their surroundings even when using closed headphones and/or listening to loud music.

DSP processing software specialist firm, Alango has been working to port the company's Voice Enhancement Package (VEP) to the NXP i.MX RT600 cross-over processor family, which is optimized for 32-bit immersive audio applications combining a high-performance Cadence Tensilica Hi-Fi 4 audio DSP core with a next-generation Cortex-M33 core. VEP is a set of Alango proprietary far-field voice enhancement technologies developed to improve human to machine interaction in a variety of applications.

Clair Brothers expanded its highly successful line of One Series 12- and 15-inch coaxial stage monitors with a self-powered version of the 1.5AM monitor called the 1.5AM+, using an amplifier module made exclusively for Clair by Powersoft. Additionally, the 1.5AM+’s internal, factory-programmed DSP loudspeaker processing gives users Xover, EQ, Limiter, and a total of four preset options.
