CEDIA 2017 San Diego: A Drive Into the Future

CEDIA 2017 brings together more than 18,000 home tech pros and over 500 exhibitors, giving attendees concentrated access to the new products, breakthrough innovations and targeted training they need. CEDIA 2017 will be held at the San Diego Convention Center, September 5-9. Show floor open September 7-9. This will be a pivotal moment for the association and the show, in the middle of some of the most challenging market trends ever.

Music technology company MQA and Universal Music Group (UMG) announced that the companies have entered into a multi-year agreement that will encode UMG’s extensive catalogue of master recordings using Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) technology, promising to make some of the world’s most celebrated recordings available for the first time in Hi-Res Audio streaming. A historical development for all the high resolution music enthusiasts.

High Resolution Audio will be a major focus at the 137th Audio Engineering Society Convention in Los Angeles (October 9-12, 2014). The Digital Entertainment Group (DEG) will present a comprehensive program on the topic, which is simultaneously causing excitement and passionate debate among audio professionals.

An agreement on the definition for High Resolution Audio was achieved, together with generic Master Quality profiles. High Resolution Audio is defined as “lossless audio that is capable of reproducing the full range of sound from recordings that have been mastered from better-than-CD-quality music sources.”
