Pure Fi Expands its Portfolio of Active Optical Cables with New 40 Gbps USB-C Solution

Pure Fi, a premium consumer and professional A/V connectivity solutions manufacturer, unveiled the new Pure Fi USB Type-C Active Optical Cable (AOC). As one of the first USB-C active optical cables offering speeds of up to 40 Gbps up to 30 feet (10 meters), this new cable is ideal for applications that require high-speed connectivity between devices not located in close proximity to one another. This new High-Speed Cable delivers supports connectivity and power with zero latency or EMI.

This year, I was really looking forward to meeting with the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF), the support organization for the advancement and adoption of USB technology, and discuss their projects for the USB4 Specification, the really big, gigantic update story on that front (at least in consumer electronics) since CES last year. The USB-IF announced the publication of the latest and greatest USB4 specification in September 2019, offering a major update to the USB architecture that complements and builds upon the existing USB 3.2 and USB 2.0 architectures.
