Waves V13 Plugin Collection Now Available With Native Apple M1 Compatibility

For studio owners, music producers and many musicians working on their own project studios, the announcement they all fear has arrived. Waves Audio announced the latest update to the mother of all audio processing plugin bundles, the annual V collection. As the world’s leading developer of professional audio signal processing technologies and plugins, Waves V13 is the ultimate bundle with all the latest plugins.

Waves Audio dedicates significant effort and software development resources, in order to ensure that the plugins that users have invested in, whether recently or years ago, will remain compatible with all the latest major DAWs and operating systems. V13 is the latest in Waves’ ongoing updates, allowing producers, musicians and engineers to continuously focus on creating the best music and audio they possibly can.

This year, Waves V13 is a must-have upgrade, particularly for those studios who make intensive use of the company’s plugins in as many channels as they can fit. As Waves Audio confirmed, Waves V13 plugins are now fully and officially supported in Apple M1 computers running M1-compatible DAWs. And given that these ARM silicon computers have obliterated all known performance benchmarks, with even the most basic MacBook Air showing significant audio (and video) processing gains over anything available with Intel processors, there is a good reason to migrate to fully native M1 (and whatever comes next) compatibility.

Of course, some studios use Windows PCs, but even those will be happy to know that Waves V13 plugins are now also fully supported in the just-released Microsoft Windows 11 operating system. As known DAWs introduce Windows 11 support, at least the plugins will be ready.

Waves also confirmed some improvements on the graphics front with selected plug-ins such as Scheps Omni Channel, Abbey Road RS124 and Kaleidoscopes now with ultra-sharp HiDPI (High Dots Per Inch) or 'Retina' display interfaces, which have a higher resolution and much greater pixel density, helping all those users to work longer hours with greater comfort - particularly important for studios now equipped with 4K resolution displays and over.

The latest V13 updates join the new features recently released in Waves V12 and V12.7 plugins, including resizable plugin GUIs, the new Waves Preset Browser with instant text search, the new Waves User Preset System, and more.

Users updating their plugins to V13 will future-proof existing sessions and ensure all Waves plugins will remain fully compatible with the latest operating systems and DAW versions. This way, studios and most importantly authors can stop worrying about technical details and focus their attention on the creative workflow.

As always, these updates also include numerous bug-fixes, new features and important improvements. Waves listed Unicode support enabling use of non-English characters in places like track and preset names; improvements on the organization of sample libraries; and many interface improvements in selected plug-ins.

To update to V13, Waves plugins need to be covered by the Waves Update Plan, the complete care and support plan for Waves products. The Waves Update Plan comes free for one year with every new Waves plugin or bundle purchase and is renewable at any time afterwards. Owners of products covered by the Waves Update Plan also get second licenses for any covered products, for the duration of their coverage; second licenses can be used on a different computer, without having to move licenses back and forth between devices. Those users also receive premium tech support, including phone, email & personal remote assistance via TeamViewer.

Since its start in the early '90s, Waves has developed a comprehensive line of over 250 audio plugins. Increasingly leveraging pioneering techniques in artificial intelligence, neural networks and machine learning, as well as the company’s three decades of accumulated expertise in psychoacoustics, Waves technologies are being used to improve sound quality in a growing number of market sectors. Waves’ plugins are used daily in the creation of hit records, major motion pictures, and top-selling video games.
