Ultrasone Introduces Wireless Bluetooth Headphones and TWS Earbuds

February 23 2022, 02:35
German headphone brand Ultrasone unveiled three new wireless options to expand its product catalog. The new Ultrasone ISAR, LAPIS and METEOR ONE are effectively the first Bluetooth headphones in its long company history and also target new markets. Ultrasone says these are the result of more than two years of development, invested by the Bavarian headphone specialist to completely reposition itself within the important "wireless personal audio" segment.

As a differentiating point from the intense competition in the wireless space, Ultrasone keeps its S-Logic core technology that creates a naturally broad spatial impression, as a key component of the on-ear models, now complemented by the addition of modern Bluetooth technology. Ultrasone also says that it has managed to raise the sound quality, comfort and battery life in this segment to an entirely new level.

The Ultrasone ISAR is a set of audiophile Bluetooth on-ear headphones with active noise cancelling (ANC) offering mobile music enjoyment and comfort-oriented noise reduction. The Ultrasone LAPIS is a true wireless in-ear model with active noise cancelling and exceptional comfort. Both products feature an ambient mode, which means the wearer can follow what someone is saying in the outside world without having to remove them. With the METEOR ONE, Ultrasone is launching its first Bluetooth gaming headset with a low-latency tactical mode and a detachable microphone.

With this new line-up of three wireless Bluetooth headphone models, optimized for three specific uses, Ultrasone had to step up its efforts to design products that could remain true to the brand and maintain its sound identity, even while adding active noise cancelling and dealing with the challenges of Bluetooth audio transmission.

With the ISAR, Ultrasone design ANC headphones that are optimized to meet the needs of music listeners on the go. For the first time ever, the engineers at Gut Raucherberg in Southern Bavaria have succeeded in combining the company's S-Logic technology for natural, broad spatial audio reproduction with natural-sounding active noise cancelling, without compromising the sound quality. Using the latest Bluetooth technology with multipoint connectivity, and support for AAC and AptX HD codecs, the ISAR headphones offer flexibility and comfort, speech intelligibility on phone calls for frequent travelers and anywhere workers.

The Ultrasone LAPIS true wireless earbuds with active noise cancelling are a completely new approach for the brand. Ultrasone has tried to maintain the sound quality of its in-ear headphones with modern Bluetooth 5.2 technology, AAC codec and comfort-oriented active noise cancelling. Six integrated microphones allow for effective noise cancelling while simultaneously guaranteeing optimum speech intelligibility on phone calls, without the earbuds having to be pushed too far into the ear or impairing the sound with unnatural acoustic insulation.

Thanks to the sophisticated ambient sound mode, the Ultrasone LAPIS true wireless earbuds do not need to be removed when the surroundings require more of the wearer’s attention. The ergonomic charging case for the earbuds features wireless (Qi) and fast charging for added convenience, while the true wireless ANC earbuds support voice control, and offer a long battery life.

The Ultrasone METEOR ONE gaming headphones with detachable microphone is the first-ever opportunity for the brand to expose demanding gamers to its sound signature. Thanks to state-of-the-art drivers and the latest-generation S-Logic technology, the METEOR ONE headphones deliver thrilling gaming experiences with naturally spatial sound. With features such as low-latency tactical mode, a dual beam microphone with background noise suppression and stylish LEDs, these comfortable headphones with large earpads are a new take for the segment.

All three Ultrasone Bluetooth have been design for longterm use, with extremely long battery life. The ISAR offers up to 35 hours of uninterrupted music enjoyment, while the LAPIS allows for up to 45 hours of audio entertainment and can be charged in its specially ergonomic flat case. And gamers won’t need to take a break either – the METEOR allows them to play for 15 hours at a time, before attaching the cable and continuing to play with no limitations.

The combination of Ultrasone S-Logic and Bluetooth technologies ensures a natural spatial quality and stable wireless playback. Ultrasone's patented S-Logic technology involves a special design of the earcups and transducers, which are offset forward and downward, instead of being placed in the middle of the headphone cup. As a result, the sound first hits the outer ear, allowing inclusion of the auricle anatomy in the hearing process to create a spatial perception for all common stereo sources, without any additional electronics. The result is a more natural sound experience with lower sound pressure in order to achieve the same volume perception. This makes S-Logic less fatiguing during long listening sessions.

"We are delighted to implement the first milestone of our transformation strategy with the launch of our new wireless products," comments Michael Willberg, CEO of Ultrasone AG. "After years of development, we have used state-of-the-art Bluetooth technologies to combine our high audio-quality standards with maximum comfort and our customary Ultrasone sound in wireless devices."

"The high demand for Bluetooth products from our customers all over the world required a much greater degree of collaborative thinking, which is what drove our strategic product orientation. We want our customers to become fans of our products, and that’s what we work towards every day. We are proud to be able to offer a full range of Bluetooth® products thanks to the outstanding support of our customers and partners," adds Robert Winterhoff, COO of Ultrasone AG.
