Sony Electronics announced the WF-SP800N sport headphones, its newest truly wireless noise canceling model. Designed for an active lifestyle, the WF-SP800N allows users to run, workout at the gym, and enjoy improved music experiences with a secure fit, IP55 rating for water and dust resistance, and long battery life. Based on the same Bluetooth chip from the successful WF-1000XM3, the new WF-SP800N model adds interesting audio processing and personalization feature, with support for 360 Reality Audio.

"With the perfect combination of noise canceling and sweat resistance, these headphones help any athlete stay focused on their goals," says Mike Fasulo, president and chief operating officer, Sony Electronics North America. "Whether you're working out at home or hitting the running trails, WF-SP800N brings your motivation to the next level."

With its water-resistant IP55 Rating, the WF-SP800N are ready to take splashes, sweat and dust in any type of activity, while their soft-cushioned arc supporter and three-dimensional curved design ensure a secure, comfortable fit. Users can even wash them off after a tough training session.

The compact charging case holds a full charge and provides 18 hours of music playback with noise cancelling switched on and up to 26 hours switched off - earbuds last up to 9 hours when using noise cancelation and Bluetooth connection. When in a hurry, 10 minutes quick charging offers up to 60 minutes of music playback. Thanks to a Bluetooth chip borrowed from the successful WF-1000XM3 truly wireless headphones, coupled with an optimized antenna design, the earphones ensure a stable connection with outstanding listening.

But the most distinguished feature in the WF-SP800N design is the latest noise canceling technology to block out distractions like the sounds of the street or the barbells at the gym, while music reproduction remains unaffected and the drivers deliver powerful, punchy, low-end sound, helping users power through their work or workout. And using the "Sony Headphones Connect" companion app, users can easily customize the audio response to create a relaxed listening experience at home or to boost the bass to charge up a workout.

And being a new Sony product, the WF-SP800N supports 360 Reality Audio - Sony's and Fraunhofer's object-based spatial audio technology, based on MPEG-H audio - to generate an immersive experience when combined with an Android smartphone or an Apple iPhone that has a participating streaming services app installed, like Tidal or Deezer HiFi. 360 Reality Audio offers a custom immersive musical field that is perfectly optimized for each individual user when utilizing the Sony app.

Adaptive Sound Control is another important feature that automatically adjusts ambient sound settings to suit the current environment. Ambient Sound Mode also lets users control the sounds that they want to let in, which can be customized in the companion app from level 0 to level 20.

Smart controls  enable users to play, stop or skip through music and adjust the volume by simply placing a finger on the right earbud and then turn down the music by placing a finger on the left earbud. The quick attention feature instantly turns the volume down and lets in ambient sound so users can chat without needing to remove the earbuds.

Thanks to wearing detection, which automatically detects when the earbuds are taken out, the music is paused whenever one of the earbuds is taken out and automatically resumes when the earbud is put back in. And of course, the WF-SP800N supports voice assistants like Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa through a connected smartphone, allowing entertainment selection options, asking for information, receive notifications, reminders and more.

The new Sony WF-SP800N model has a suggested retail price of $199.99 and is available for purchase now at Best Buy, Amazon and other authorized dealers.
