Sennheiser Introduces TeamConnect Intelligent Speaker for Microsoft Teams Rooms

Sennheiser continues to expand its range of products for conference systems, meeting rooms and collaboration. Originally planned for launch at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2022, which was postponed to May 2022, the new TeamConnect Intelligent Speaker, a unified communications solution, certified for mid-sized Microsoft Teams Rooms, was unveiled during a free, online event. The new design features a powerful speaker and 7 beamforming microphones, and will transcribe the meeting in real-time while identifying up to 10 different voices in the room.
 
With the TeamConnect Intelligent Speaker, Sennheiser is delivering a solution to support "smart, focused and inclusive" meetings for up to 10 people, whether participants join remotely or are in the room. It features an omnidirectional speaker that covers a 3.5m radius and seven integrated beamforming microphones to achieve impeccable sound quality. Through the Sennheiser speaker, companies using Microsoft Teams software will be able to provide automatic meeting transcripts in real-time, identifying the individual people speaking by name, in case they have enrolled their voices. This also has the intent to provide an inclusive meeting experience for remote and hard-of-hearing participants.

Microsoft Teams Rooms combines the virtual workspace of the Microsoft Teams software with real-world meeting rooms that feature AV equipment from Microsoft-certified hardware partners, such as Sennheiser. Being a solution integrated with Microsoft's software tools, the new TeamConnect Intelligent Speaker is also able to connect to the integrated Cortana voice recognition software and generate automatic meeting notes. With multiple mounting options, long cables and a variety of country-specific power plug adapters, the TeamConnect Intelligent Speaker offers an easy and flexible installation experience.
