With a coverage area of up to 40m² the power of the field-proven TeamConnect Ceiling 2 (TCC 2) microphone array can now be applied to mid-sized meeting spaces, with a new product that features an elegant design and at an attractive price-point. Unlike the TCC 2, the new TCC M is round, but does offer the same ceiling installation choices - surface mounted, suspended, or flush mounted. These options allow for cable-free tables and flexible furniture arrangement.
"With the worldwide success of our TCC 2 for large meeting spaces, we wanted to provide that same experience to mid-size conference rooms and educational spaces," says Jens Werner, Product Manager, UC Solutions, Sennheiser. "Now with TCC M, a whole new meeting category can realize TeamConnect Ceiling Solutions benefits like Trusted Sennheiser Audio Quality, efficient setup, brand agnostic integration and simple management and control. Also, when considering a new design, it was important to us to make a sustainable impact with smaller housing."
Sennheiser's TeamConnect Ceiling Solutions employ patented automatic dynamic beamforming technology and a voice-enhancement processing feature called TruVoicelift. Combined these offer perfect speech intelligibility while allowing the speaker great flexibility in movement and position. Built-in inside the ceiling microphone array are 15 high-quality SMD electret condenser capsules, which are made in Germany and have already proven themselves in numerous Sennheiser microphones. They ensure perfect speech intelligibility and offer outstanding audio quality by capturing the entire meeting room. The beamforming array is also able to constantly determine the position of the person speaking, without manually needing to configure zones ahead of time - everything is determined by the signal captured by the microphones. This talker position data can be sent to a meeting room solution to provide camera control. If additional control is needed, priority and exclusion zones can be set using Sennheiser's Sennheiser Control Cockpit software.
The new TeamConnect Ceiling Medium is also a versatile design for installations in all sorts of environments, providing options of audio-over-IP with Dante and power supplied over Ethernet (PoE - power consumption is approx. 8W), as well as analog outputs. The system is compliant with IEEE 802.1X for port-based Network Access Control through a LAN or WLAN, and has already been certified for Microsoft Teams, Zoom, DingTalk and Tencent.
As Sennheiser highlighted at ISE 2023, by owning the manufacturing, Sennheiser has managed to navigate the supply chain crisis significantly better than others and was able to provide its customers with full transparency and on-time delivery dates. In addition, starting with all TeamConnect Ceiling Solutions manufactured in 2023, Sennheiser is extending the warranty period from two to five years with product registration.
The TeamConnect Ceiling Solutions are part of its TeamConnect family of products, Sennheiser’s agnostic collaboration portfolio with state-of-the-art technology that suits the size and setup of any conference room. To help system designers find the most suitable TeamConnect Family solution for a specific meeting room environment, Sennheiser has just announced the first iteration of a new, browser-based room planner tool. Users will be able to identify the most appropriate solution and the optimal placement for it based on factors like room size and speaker positioning.
At ISE 2023, Sennheiser also featured its solutions in partnership with multiple manufacturers, showcasing the TeamConnect range in booths of Bose Professional, Creston, Kramer, Q-SYS, Xilica and Xilinx (AMD).
