British audio specialist Q Acoustics introduced the M20 HD wireless music system, featuring aptX HD Bluetooth connectivity for wireless streaming of high resolution-quality stereo audio from devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and network streamers. Designed to deliver superior audio, the M20 speakers feature advanced driver technology, reinforced P2P (Point to Point) cabinets, and an elegant, classic design to create an affordable but class-leading wireless stereo experience.

Featuring aptX HD Bluetooth connectivity for wireless streaming of high resolution-quality audio from devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and network streamers, users can hear their favorite music streamed from popular services such as Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, Apple Music, Amazon Music, or Qobuz. The M20 speakers can also enhance sound from a games console, TV, turntable, set-top box, CD player and portable music players alike.

The M20’s advanced driver technology is designed to produce low-distortion, precise but highly immersive stereo sound. The two-way system with rear-firing reflex port is powered by a built-in 2x 65W amplifier. The 22mm tweeter is decoupled to minimize any internal vibrations that can adversely affect the audio, and extends the response of the 5"/125mm mid/bass driver from 2.4kHz all the way to 55Hz. From deep but nuanced low-frequencies to crisp, attacking highs, and with a midrange that’s simply packed with information, the M20 design offers a dynamic and engaging response. For added bass response, the system offers a subwoofer output.

Equipped with Bluetooth 5 for an ultra-stable connection, the integrated active system supports aptX, aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, SBC, and AAC, allowing users to wirelessly stream high-resolution audio (up to 24-bit/48kHz) from any compatible aptX HD device. The speakers can be connected to a computer via USB and, like the optical (Toslink) input, supports hi-res audio up to 24-bit/192kHz. According to Q Acoustics, the flexible M20 design is not just about the latest wireless technology. It features enough inputs to connect a TV and any other analog line level device, through the stereo RCA and 3.5mm min-jack inputs.

Drawing from the company’s passive speakers, the M20 beautifully sculpted cabinets use Q Acoustics’ proprietary P2P (Point to Point) internal bracing to support the parts of the enclosure that need to be stiffened, improving the focus of the stereo image and giving the soundstage more accuracy. The grille’s curved contours are also designed to disperse any tweeter activity, keeping unwanted reflections to a minimum.

Only one of the speakers connects to mains, using the built-in universal power supply (100V – 240V, 50-60Hz). As well as being able to designate the powered speaker as either the left or right channel (to make accessing mains power as simple as possible), there’s also an EQ switch to let the system know if each speaker is positioned in a corner, against a wall or in free space so its built-in DSP can optimize the audio performance.

Q Acoustics also offers optionals stands and wall-brackets, allowing the M20 speakers to fit the different usage scenarios, wherever they are placed. The  M20 HD wireless music system is priced at €499 EUR or $599 USD and is available starting in August 2021 from www.qacoustics.co.uk and local independent dealers, and in September 2021 in the US.
