According to the British manufacturer of professional audio transducers, the release of the PD.1845-1N reveals some of the company's latest advancements in transducer technology, placing Precision Devices in a leading position for large power professional audio solutions. The PD.1845-1N is a next-generation 18-inch, lightweight subwoofer that provides incredible levels of power handling, high SPL output and exceptional low frequency extension; perfect for delivering powerful and accurate bass in compact reflex and horn-loaded enclosure designs.
The PD.1845-1N’s vented cast-aluminum chassis and forced-air cooled, long-throw motor system houses a strong neodymium magnet and a new 37mm long, 4.5-inch diameter, four-layer, copper-clad aluminum voice coil design on an angular split, ventilated, glass fibre former. Effective thermal management in the motor system and voice coil gap decreases the energy lost to heat which allows for extreme power handling, low power compression and incredible overall audio performance.
Coupled with an optimized compliance, double silicone suspension system and triple-roll surround that provides 16mm Xmax and ultimate cone control at high excursion, along with an aluminum demodulation ring to reduce inductance and provide ultra-low distortion. The PD.1845-1N exhibits 98.8dB sensitivity across its working frequency band of 30Hz – 1kHz with a rated power handling of 1500 watts AES.
This new sub bass woofer is the 11th new product introduced by Precision Devices in 2021.
