New Stream Deck and Wave Mic Among Five Products Announced by Elgato

April 24 2024, 00:35
Elgato, a Corsair brand, announced a new hardware line, called Neo, that merges high-end performance, plug-and-play simplicity at affordable prices. That includes a new version of its Stream Deck button controller and the Wave Mic, a nicely designed desktop microphone with built-in USB-C audio interface and metal stand. Two outstanding consumer design examples. In total, Elgato introduced five new Neo products, including also a webcam, LED light, and capture card.

All the new Elgato Neo products are designed to make activities like video calls and livestreams easier, working seamlessly on almost any system, including laptop and iPads. The Neo range delivers the same quality standards Elgato is known for, helping creators and professionals present their best selves online, with prices ranging from $89.99 to $119.99.

"With Neo, we began with the basic fundamentals that users value most," says Julian Fest, General Manager of Elgato. "Things like iPad capture, tap to mute, and accessible lighting controls. Then we developed hardware and software around these core needs. The result is a new kind of Elgato product aimed at an emerging audience. An audience that may not want or need complex tech setups, but absolutely wants to be more professional and confident online. We’re excited to see what these individuals can do with Neo."

Unlike built-in laptop or earbud mics, the new Wave Neo microphone captures voices with true-to-life accuracy as a result of its larger microphone capsule. Positioned perfectly with its extra-tall desktop stand that is meant to be seen on screen, the Elgato Wave Neo also ensures less background noise and more voice. It mutes/unmutes with a quick tap and sets up in a snap on any system, including iPad, PlayStation, and even iPhones.

Although its design was intended to seem minimalistic and uncomplicated, Elgato incorporated key technologies, such as a foam pop filter, headphone jack, and cable management. Plus, using Elgato's Wave Link app, presenters have the option to fine-tune their sound further, optimizing results for streaming, recording, meetings and voice chat. Now available for just $89.99 on the Elgato webstore.

The second product to pay attention in the Elgato Neo range is the latest Stream Deck Neo. This iconic workflow controller has far surpassed all expectations of the original design created by Elgato Systems, prior to the brand being acquired by Corsair in 2018. The Stream Deck is a customizable control pad, which can act as a programmable keyboard that lets the user create their own macros. It was originally designed to serve as a video game live streaming control device, but each button is an LCD screen which can be customized, and mapped to specific functions, which inspired uses in many different applications and even industries. Many different models with more or less buttons have been offered since the original Stream Deck was launched in 2017.

The Stream Deck Neo was reimagined for everyday tasks, and the model has eight customizable keys and a clean design that fits neatly on desks. It’s also got an Infobar to display date and time, plus two Touch Points that make navigating pages easier than ever. Elgato designed the Stream Deck Neo as a way to make repetitive and tedious everyday routines simpler and fun. But like the original, swapping out actions and personalizing keys is as easy as a drag and drop using the free Stream Deck app, for Mac and PC. The Stream Deck Neo is available now for just $99.99 on the Elgato webstore.

In the Elgato Neo range we also find the Facecam Neo, a plug-and-play Full HD webcam with HDR and a built-in privacy shutter,  the Key Light Neo, which casts a soft, even glow that flatters skin tones without straining the eyes, and the Game Capture Neo, a capture card that helps gamers record or stream by splitting the video signal in two.

With its neutral colors and friendly shapes, the Neo hardware helps minimize distractions, creates a cohesive look and is green by design. Made from 60% or more recycled plastic, these devices mark a milestone in Elgato’s path to sustainability. Its packaging is 100% plastic-free and uses less color to reduce material waste and conserve water.
