The High End show is organized by the High End Society, the trade association for high-quality electronic home entertainment, whose members include the industry’s leading companies. Anyone accustomed to visit US shows like RMAF or Axpona can think of this European show as six times the size and benefiting from modern and convenient facilities - the MOC convention center in Munich.
In 2016, more than 500 exhibitors (most of them representing multiple brands), from over 40 countries, presented their products and services, while more than 20,000 visitors, of which 7,000 are high-profile trade visitors from all corners of the world attended.
In February 2017, the show was already completely booked, while the demand from companies for exhibition opportunities was still high. “We are very pleased at the number of registrations. It shows how important our fair is, particularly as an international meeting place for industry and trade specialists. It’s an ideal opportunity to make valuable contacts and talk to expert colleagues,” says Kurt Hecker, chairman of the High End Society.
The High End show displays the entire spectrum of the audio market, from small to exclusive music systems, car sound and headphones, right to record players and traditional valve amplifiers in more than 29,000 square metres of exhibition space, using all four halls and 140 adjacent demonstration booths in the MOC complex.
Enter the Streaming Age
The consumer electronics industry is experiencing a radical transformation in the midst of an era of digitalization. Ease of availability and new consumer habits mean that today people are listening to more music than ever before. Concepts such as streaming and multi-room systems are becoming ever more popular. This means one of the biggest future trends is in user-friendly digital all-round devices. More and more consumers are combining very different devices in their own homes and using intelligent connection systems that offer more convenience, security, entertainment and above all, cost - and energy savings. The High End show reflects those trends in the industry.
As well as product presentations, the event promotes a varied program of side events, including live music, numerous talks, workshops, and music presentations. A new attraction at the trade fair is the headphones listening bar, which was very busy last year. Here, visitors can become audio testers themselves, directly comparing different headphone models using identical high-quality music clips.
The High End begins with a special day for trade visitors. On 18 May 2017, the show is only open to registered trade visitors and journalists with prior accreditation.
The new theme for High End 2017 is "Let The Music Play!" The key element of the exhibition has always been the idea of addressing people and conveying a positive, emotional experience with high-quality music reproduction. Music, as has been demonstrated, affects all levels of the brain, has direct access to human
emotions and is deeply rooted in human history.
